Does Madrigal Duo require a security deposit? If so, is it refundable?
Yes, we require a $100.00 security deposit to confirm our participation and reserve the time and date. Refunds will be determined as follows:
Full refund: if cancellation occurs at least three (3) months before the date of the event (90 days or more), the security deposit will be refunded in full. No refund: if cancellation occurs with less than three months to the date of the event (89 days or less), the security deposit will be non-refundable. When will you require the outstanding balance?
The outstanding balance will be due upon our arrival at the venue.
How will music selections and other details be discussed between both parties?
Music selections, venue, time & date, and other details may be discussed by email and phone conversations. A list of the repertoire available will be sent by email, so the client may choose what they want performed at their wedding; at this moment, any special requests should be made. A meeting in person is possible as well, if desired.
Can I make special requests, in terms of repertoire?
Absolutely! You can make one or more special requests, for an additional fee. However, please keep in mind that, we will be able to play special requests provided that we find the music for it and, have enough time to study and rehearse it. Additional charges may apply depending on the price of the sheet music, extra rehearsal time, etc.; also, if the request is made on short notice. When can I expect the performers to arrive?
Madrigal Duo and all its members will arrive at least one (1) hour prior to the event, to scout the venue, set up their equipment and be ready to perform in time.
Will the musicians perform outdoors?
Yes. As long as the weather permits, Madrigal Duo will be able to perform outdoors.
Will there be music played before the actual ceremony begins?
Provided that no unexpected issues arise, Madrigal Duo should be ready to perform at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of the event. At this time, our guitarist may play soft instrumental music for the guests; or, if preferred, we can play your own music from an mp3-player playlist through our speakers.
Is Madrigal Duo available to play Cocktail Hours and Receptions?
It depends. For the Cocktail Hour, we are able to play from our repertoire list or requests made in advance. As for the Reception, we may be able to play music that the client has on an mp3-player playlist, through our speakers; however, our ensemble is not made for nor equipped to play live music for the duration of a full reception. Will the musicians performing at our wedding be the same as the ones on the Audio Sample?
YES! If you ask for Madrigal Duo as it is, the musicians you can hear in our audio samples are the same ones that will perform at your wedding; visit our Repertoire List section for LIVE audio samples of Madrigal Duo. However, keep in mind that these samples do not include any additional musicians you may request.
Is it possible to add singers or musicians to the ensemble?
Sure. If you would like a bigger ensemble, we may be able to expand our group for your wedding. We know great singers and musicians, and upon request and availability, you can have them perform at your event with us. In case you like singers, we work closely with a talented tenor, who could join us for beautiful singing duets; other voice types are also a possibility. Or in case you want to have multiple instruments, we may be able to find the ones you want. An additional fee will apply for each guest artist. What will the members of the ensemble wear?
All members of Madrigal Duo will wear black. According to the dress code and venue of your event, these are some examples of what they will wear:
Ladies: blouse with skirt/pants; cocktail dress; or, full-length gown. Men: shirt, tie and pants; or, black suit/tuxedos. *In case the client wants the musicians to wear anything else than black, advance notice of at least three (months) before the event is required. Also, charges may apply to cover additional expenses to the members of the group, if any.
What areas of Boston and adjacent areas will Madrigal Duo cover?
Our current rates cover Boston and Neighboring Areas -up to two (2) hours of travel by car-, for example: Worcester Greater Area, Cape Cod, etc.
Will you be willing to travel farther out of the designated areas?
We are willing to travel out of the designated areas. Any venue farther away than the two (2) hours traveling time-frame may be considered for an additional fee, to be discussed and determined between both parties.
How much space will you need at the venue? Will you require additional equipment?
Our own little corner! We need our own space -out of everyone else's way- to setup our equipment, stands, etc.; in addition to this, we will need:
Armless chairs for all performers. Electrical outlet to plug into for amplification. Although we always carry with our own extension cord, we may need additional extension cords if the outlet is not accessible. Would it be possible to borrow a microphone for the Officiant or Master of Ceremony?
Sure. We always carry an extra microphone that may be used by the officiant
or MC.
